Public Assistance

There’s no shame in taking public assistance if said assistance will keep you housed and fed. In this section, I’ll share my personal experience with and/or knowledge about American social welfare programs. We’ll end up reviewing some of the most vital welfare programs (on both a federal and state level).

Keep in mind that eligibility requirements vary state-by-state, so you may not be eligible for food stamps or Medicaid in say, Texas, the same way you might in California.

Moreover, many public assistance programs have time limits, meaning you can’t stay on them forever. These limits also vary depending on the area of the country you’re in, the presence (and nature of) any disabilities, etc.
